Why I am working with the Research Shop: I am working at the Research Shop because I believe it truly makes a difference in the community by translating academic knowledge and expertise into development in practice. I hope to gain real world experience by collaborating with our community partners, while improving on valuable skills such as research analysis, critical thinking, and presenting information through various mediums.
Program of Study: I am currently pursuing a Master's in Political Science. I am especially interested in sustainable development in practice, citizen empowerment, and social movements. I would like to explore how power sharing between rural communities and municipal, provincial, and federal governments affects the ability of local organizations to create sustained positive change within the community.
