The Community Engaged Scholarship Institute (CESI) brings together community and campus skills and resources in order to advance community-identified research goals. We work in collaboration, we honour diverse forms of knowledge, and we leverage university resources for community benefit.
At CESI, we believe that principled engagement is about respectful relationships. We also believe that collaboration increases the relevance and impact of our research. We work to develop, implement and support evidence-informed, rigorous practices of:
- Critical community-engaged scholarship
- Community engaged teaching and learning
- Knowledge mobilization
A suite of programs works to carry forward our mandate within and beyond the College of Social and Applied Human Sciences, and in our local communities of Guelph and Wellington County.
