Amber Gillespie

Why I am working with the Research Shop:  As a long-time resident of the Guelph Community, I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with the Research Shop to give back to the residents of Guelph through building community capacity. Additionally, I am most grateful for the opportunity to develop skill and knowledge in conducting primary and secondary research of interest to Guelph community members. 

Program of study: After working within the healthcare sector as a Registered Nurse for the past 10 years, I have become increasingly of the belief that if we are truly making a difference in the health of Canadians, that we must shift even more of a focus towards an upstream model of healthcare that addresses lifestyle and social factors.  For this reason, I am currently working towards completion of a Master of Public Health.
