Why I am working with the Research Shop: I aspire to integrate my own community work as an Occupational Therapist and volunteer with impactful, responsible and collaborative research in Guelph-Wellington communities. By working with the Research Shop, I hope to build partnerships with community organizations, refine qualitative research skills and offer meaningful contributions to my community.
Program of Study: For my PhD in Geography, I will be conducting Doctorate-level research exploring transformative experiences for youth in building empathy and solidarity across perceived social difference. Through participatory research methods, I seek to showcase youth's perspectives on barriers and facilitators to diverse forms of activitism that blur the line between "international development" and "community development".
