Why I am working at the Research Shop: I started in the Guelph Lab at CESI and I loved my experience, so I am excited to continue my work in the Research Shop. CESI helped ignite my passion for community-engaged research and the positive impact researchers have when their work is collaborative, accessible, and embedded within the community. When research is done this way, participants and community partners gain something meaningful and practical out of each project, which encourages positive change.
Program of study: I am a Master of Arts candidate in Criminology and Criminal Justice Policy. My exploratory thesis research focuses on using interview data to better understand the role that defence lawyers play in private bail negotiations with Crown attorneys before accused have a formal bail hearing.
