Details
Led by the National Council of Canadian Muslims, this workshop for the U of G campus community examines the pedagogical foundation for creating universities that are welcoming and inclusive to everyone and looks at how Islamophobia may be impacting our schools and classrooms. As a group, we will explore Islamophobia and some common myths about Islam and Muslims and will also examine how Muslims students are impacted by negative public discourses about their faith. The workshop provides case studies, resources, and recommendations for educators, administrators, and campus leaders to support efforts to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion at the University of Guelph.
This event is hosted by the University of Guelph Muslim Students’ Association, the College of Social and Applied Human Sciences Dean’s Office & the Community Engaged Scholarship Institute in celebration of Islamic Heritage Month.
