Why I am working with the Research Shop: I am working with the Research Shop because I am really excited about the opportunity to help work on developing and promoting a better understanding of real-life issues affecting the community. I think that community-academic partnerships have a lot of potential for fostering genuinely community-based development and social innovation, and that we can all gain so much from collaboration.
Program of Study: For my research project, I am interested in looking at how the incorporation of more participatory and deliberative mechanisms in the health sector could promote health equity. In other words, how can including more ordinary people in the healthcare decision-making help to foster the equal opportunity for all people to realize their full health potential?
