Rewarding CES: Transforming University Policies and Practices
Rewarding CES: Transforming University Policies and Practices
Rewarding CES was a self-funded partnership comprised of eight universities and an international organization that worked together to address university culture, policies, and practices to recognize and reward community engaged scholarship (CES).
The objectives of this partnership were to:
- Establish a learning community around institutional change strategic, policies, and practices that support and advance CES
- Ensure that university tenure and promotion policies and practices recognize and reward CES
- Implement and evaluate innovative mechanisms for developing community-engaged faculty
- Establish a vibrant, sustainable network of universities that support and advance CES
Each university partner led on-campus activities to advance these shared goals, and a Partnership Governance Committee with representatives from each partner met to report on progress and address any challenges.
The partners included:
- Community Campus Partnerships for Health
- University of Guelph
- University of Alberta
- University of Calgary
- Memorial University of Newfoundland
- University of Regina
- University of Saskatchewan
- University of Victoria
- York University
