Faculty Advisory Board Member

Leah is a faculty member in the Department of Political Science at the University of Guelph. By training and passion, she is also a community engaged scholar who seeks opportunities to create collaborations across disciplines, sectors, communities and Nations for the purpose of addressing complex social problems and highlighting women’s and communities’ capacities and knowledges. Her research collaborations focus on intersections between wellbeing, community change, and citizen engagement – particularly for northern settler and Indigenous women and young women – and the framing and development of public policy. She also explores, and tries to live by, the ethics and practices of critical community engaged and decolonizing teaching and scholarship. Before moving to Guelph, Leah lived and served as a city councillor in Fredericton, NB.
