Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Protocol Evaluation Research
Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Protocol Evaluation Research
The Guelph-Wellington Action Committee on Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence (the Action Committee) is a collaboration of 27 organizations that provide services to women and children in Guelph-Wellington who have experienced sexual assault and/or domestic violence. In 2010, the Action Committee received funding from the Ministry of the Attorney General to create the First Response Protocol, which formalizes principles and practices to enhance victim safety and offender accountability.
In 2014, Professor Mavis Morton lead a community engaged evaluation of the First Response Protocol through a community-university partnership between the Action Committee and the University of Guelph. It explored how well the First Response Protocol was working from the perspectives of service users and providers, as well as the successes and challenges of agencies in Guelph-Wellington responding to sexual assault and domestic violence.
This project was covered in the Guelph Mercury.
