Tad McIlwraith
Tad Mcllwraith is a faculty member in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Guelph. Over the past 25 years, he has developed expertise in ethnographic methods, research ethics, knowledge systems, and lands and resources. His research interests include indigenous knowledges, ethnography, Indigenous rights, British Columbia history, cultural appropriation, and life history. Tad’s approach to community-engaged scholarship begins with community interests and emphasizes accountability to collaborators and partners. He views community-engaged scholarship as a long-term commitment to communities that produces high-quality research and that is highly rewarding for collaborators. In the past, Tad has collaborated with community partners including Splatsin Nation (British Columbia) and the Canadian Camping Association.
